Background
My name is Daniel Lim and I am passionate about using user centered design as a means to improve and impact people’s lives. I thrive on learning new things everyday and I find fulfilment in meeting people who shares their ideas with the world.
After graduating as a Political Science major and completing my traineeship as an Outreach Executive, I’ve grown to enjoy the process of research and writing. I wanted to find a more challenging and engaging way to apply research insights and it was here where I found out about UX Design. What compelled me towards UX was how it utilises and applies research methods and data, applying it onto a visual, interactive output. This led to my enrolment into General Assembly’s UX Bootcamp where I learnt and experienced design processes, concepts and theories of UX/UI as well as Product Design. In my free time, I also read design blogs, attend workshops and applying these external sources of inspirations onto my work.
Prototyping
I'm skilled in prototyping products with users and stakeholders across the entire design lifecycle. I love to use Figma, Sketch, Invision Adobe XD and Axure to wireframe and prototype designs.
User Research
I believe that user research is the most important step of the design process. I love speaking to users and understanding their process & problems first, before considering solutions.
UI & Visual Design
I'm a visual designer with an eye for graphics, typography, layout, and color. I enjoy creatinglsoftware & mobile products while incorporating modern aesthetics and design trends.
Project Management
I enjoy crafting project plans, writing user stories and conducting User Acceptance Testings (UATs) to ensure that newly developed features and functions have met acceptance criterias. I strongly believe in applying agile processes and methodologies to my design process.
UX Writing
I’m a confident writer who believes in the power of words and its significance in shaping an application’s experience. I enjoy writing and planning the microcopy needed to help users navigate a product with ease.
